Uhlik Repeater Rat Traps
Rats are pesky creatures. They have a talent for causing significant damage to homes and property, and can even contaminate food and spread disease. When rats invade, they leave a scent trail, letting other rats know it’s okay to come join, so it’s important to stop rat infestations early before they have a chance to escalate.
If you have a rat invasion on your hands, you need a reliable solution to get rid of them for good. Uhlik Live Repeater Rat Traps are designed to capture rats and other small animals such as squirrels without causing them harm so that they can be released elsewhere.
Take Care of Infestations in the Humane Way
Uhlik Repeater Traps are easy to use. Each trap comes with 1.25 pounds of rat bait, which contains four different grains and seeds that are known to entice rats. Simply put some bait in the tray, put the trap in a place you know rats spend time, and let the trap do its work.
When the rat steps onto the bait tray, it triggers the trap door and the rodent falls into the trap. (Note that mice won’t trigger the trap door, since they are too small.) The door resets itself without any intervention, and the holding area can hold 25 to 40 rats, making it an efficient way to curb rat infestations.
Once you’ve trapped the rats or other small animals, it’s your choice what to do with them, but if you want to take a more humane approach, you can use the transfer cage to bring them somewhere to be released. To keep the animals calm during the transfer process, you can cover the cage with a blanket or towel.
Some sources recommend releasing rats within 100 yards of where they were found, since they fare better in familiar areas, while others advise you to bring it as far away from your home as possible to ensure it won’t return. At the end of the day, it’s best to release rats into an environment similar to where the rat was living before, with easy access to food, water, and shelter, to give them the best chance of survival.
During the transfer process, make sure you wear protective clothing and gloves to protect yourself from scratches and bites. Additionally, you should thoroughly clean and disinfect the area in which you found the rats to prevent the spreading of disease through their droppings.
If you’ve captured a squirrel, the recommended release procedure is different than it is for rats. Squirrels need to be relocated to an area at least 10 miles away from your home so they don’t end up back on your property. Find a new home for them in a place with plenty of trees and nearby sources of food and water.
